Cookbooks I Love...

There are many cookbooks I love but some i always go back to...

My current food Bible is Honestly Healthy by Vicky Edgson and Natasha Corrett, many of my friends have got it too as i have been raving about it for a long time now. It's about leading an alkaline lifestyle and if you don't know what that means don't you worry as everything is explained in the beginning of this wonderful book, packed with beautiful pictures and mouthwatering recipes that are also very good for you.

The The Kind Life by Alicia Silverstone has many great vegan and macrobiotic recipes and I'm especially in love with her lentil and sweet potato stew which I make over and over again.

For seasonal heart warming recipes made with locally sourced ingredients (and a picture of the cutest Labrador which makes my heart melt a little every time I see it), look no further than The Abel and Cole Cookbook. My favourite recipe from this book is definitely the Spinach and Walnut pasta which i make very often and actually just made today as our vegetarian Easter lunch!

The Snog Cookbook is all about healthy treats and has many choices from raw desserts, to dairy and gluten free treats, they even have smoothies and other types of delicious drinks..Yum.

Oh, and I am not going to forget about the one book I go to EVERY SINGLE CHRISTMAS without fail...
Nigella Christmas. I love it so so so so much and her Christmas Rocky Road is always a massive success with my family when i go back to Italy for Christmas. They actually request it every year!
She's my British Martha Stewart and my Christmas would never be as exciting without this book.

I can be very picky when it comes to cookbooks dealing with Italian food but Jamie's Italy is truly great, which is why i do own a copy myself ( i own more of Jamie's cookbooks, his Ministry of Food is actually what got me started in the kitchen). All the recipes are very accurate and my favourite part is that he writes about the everyday use of greens on Italian tables, just simple steamed or sautéed greens with a little olive oil as a side are always present. At least have always been in my family ;)

Those books are the ones i use most of the times but there are many i own and love such as:

Miss Dahl's Voluptious Delights. Beautifully written and with enchanting pictures and drawings, I would describe it as a little gem..Her second book From Season to Season: A Year in Recipes is also worth checking out but her first one remains my favourite.

I fell in love with Rachel Khoo's The Little Paris Kitchen while watching her tv show (same title as the book). She's very watchable and it was so inspiring to watch her whip up quick yet glorious french food in a teeny tiny kitchen in her parisian studio apartment which she cleverly transformed into a 2 persons restaurant. Genius.

One more, Gwyneth Paltrow's  Notes from my Kitchen is another well written cookbook with lovely anecdotes about family recipes...

And here's a quick list of other titles i own or wish to own soon:

Jamie's 30 Minutes Meals

Jamie Does ( on my to buy list)

The Hairy Dieters Simple recipes that won't weigh you down.Literally!

The Whole Truth by Andrea Beaman. Fabulous nutrition coach, make sure you look up her tv show
Fed Up!

Nigella Express

and more to come....
